Erin Johnson.

Erin Johnson was killed by a predatory black bear while working at the Pogo Mine in June 2017. Johnson’s family and friends established an endowed fund, the Erin K. Johnson Memorial Fund, to provide, in perpetuity, donations and grants to organizations and individuals aligned with the mission of the Fund: to support getting children outdoors to experience nature, to promote scientific education, and to protect Alaska’s wild places. These were the values Johnson cherished. Thanks to her mother and to Brad Meiklejohn for bringing this to our attention.
